Most baseball players like to find equipment that they are comfortable with and continue to use it until it no longer works. We don’t like change and want to ensure that the baseball bat we use stays the same. Choosing the right baseball bat will help ensure that you have that long term comfort level. Rawlings Baseball Bats

Rawlings Baseball Bats have recently begun to expand on their market share. A few short years ago the company was known more for baseball gloves and balls then for baseball bats. While they are still the only supplier of baseballs to the Major Leagues they have begun to shift more focus onto bats.

Wooden Rawlings baseball bats have a rounded end cap that results in a heavier feel than most of their competitors. You also tend to feel more shock and vibration with wooden Rawlings Baseball bats. Their wooden bats are appropriate for players that like a heavy feel.

Aluminum Rawlings baseball bats are available in a composite of carbon fiber and fiberglass. Carbon fiber is used for it’s light weight and high strength. The handle of Rawlings Baseball Bats have a different feel from most other manufacturers. I have not had much experience with these bats. If you have used them please post your comments on Rawlings Baseball Bats.

Louisville Slugger Baseball Bats

Louisville Slugger Baseball Bats are probably the most well known baseball bats in the world. They are mainly known for their wooden bats, but they also have a wide selection of aluminum baseball bats available. Since aluminum baseball bats are not allowed in professional baseball many past and present major leaguers use wooden Louisville Slugger baseball bats.

Wooden bats from Louisville Slugger as made of either Northern Ash or Maple and come in a wide array of colors, shapes, and sizes. The Louisville Slugger Baseball Bats that are made of Northern Ash are available with a clear coating that extends the life of the bat.

Louisville Slugger Baseball bats are available in the “Pro Stock Series” and are made from the same grade of wood as the major leaguer’s bats. The “Pro Stock Lite Series” is also made from quality wood and comes in lighter weights.

Most wooden Louisville Slugger baseball bats come with a cupped end that helps to reduce shock and vibration on contact. It also helps prevent the baseball bat from being top heavy which could cause you to lead with the barrel instead of your hands.

Aluminum Lousiville Slugger Baseball Bats have a very nice feel to them. They tend to feel lighter than bats of similar weight because more of the bats weight is centered around the handle. Lousiville Slugger TPX bats have a special end cap that helps to reduce vibrations at the point of contact. They are made of a one piece design which reduces the amount of flex in the bat.

Louisville Slugger TPX bats use a multi-walled design using both carbon composite and graphite with a resin filler inserted between the layers to eliminate air. Aluminum Louisville Slugger Baseball Bats have a good feel and make a distinct sound when striking the ball.

Whether you choose aluminum or wood you will find that you receive good construction from your Louisville Slugger Baseball Bats.

Demarini Baseball Bats

Demarini Baseball Bats are a small division of Wilson Athletics, which is more commonly known for their baseball mitts and gloves. Their aluminum baseball bats are created with a flex-tuned carbon composite handle that is very light and produces a lot of flex in the bat. Some people say that the extra flex helps create a whipping action to increase bat speed.

Demarini Baseball Bats are known for having durability issues. The manufacturer goes so far as to paint a warning on the bat advising you to rotate it after each hit so you are not consistently striking the ball with the same part of the barrel.

Demarini Baseball Bats have a longer barrel than most other aluminum bats and helps you to strike the ball with a good part of the bat more often. Their bats fell nicely balanced.

These bats are still not very common. Please post your comments if you have experience with Demarini Baseball Bats.
